Dr. Noelle Nelson

Paul Durietz

Paul Durietz, at 76, holds the Guinness World Record for the longest career as a Social Studies teacher – 53 years! That’s a lot of teaching. Paul says that he is able to teach for decades because he loves what he was doing – and continues to do. As far as he is concerned, the love of what one does is what promotes good in the world. Paul first got interested in Social Studies as he listened to his father tell of WWII and how he was awarded the Purple Heart for his service. In addition, since his mother was a relative of England’s Earl of Pembroke, Paul became intrigued by the Middle Ages, and voila! A dedicated teacher of Social Studies was “born.” Are you an Amazing?
