Peggy Coppom, at 99, enjoyed a year like no other. She was Sports Illustrated’s “Sportsperson of the Year,” she’s featured in a documentary series (Amazon Prime) about coach Deion Sanders and has developed a friendship with Deion himself! All this after some 80 years of attending Colorado University football games in full CU regalia, pompoms included, with her twin sister Betty until Betty passed in 2020. But what stands out most about Peggy, according to Deion and others, is her consistent optimism. She just makes the best of everything, whenever and however possible. Wow!
