Linda Vanderloop, at 74, became the oldest woman on record to have hiked the Appalachian Trail – all 2,200 miles of it, with its 900,000-vertical-foot hike. The Trail is daunting to many, but to have tackled and completed it at 74 is truly awesome. Linda was joined by her daughter, Hanna, who started her Trail adventure in Connecticut, figuring “Why should Mom have all the fun?!” Linda didn’t hike to set a record, just for the experience and adventure of it, but when she realized she just might beat the previous record, she thought “Why not?” and went for it. Congratulations, Linda!
