Dr. Noelle Nelson

Barry Gibb, at 77, had the enormous pleasure of receiving a Kennedy Center Honor, on the heels of being awarded an Honorary Companion of the Order of Australia the previous year. The award is a close companion to the Commander of the Order of the British Empire he received a couple of decades earlier for his contributions to music and charity. In addition, the Guinness World Records lists Barry as the second most successful songwriter in history, the first being Paul McCartney. Whew! But for all that, what most of us think of is simply the wonderful times we’ve enjoyed listening and dancing to the “Bee Gees,” and to Barry’s never-ending incomparable tunes. Thank you, Sir Barry!
